Starting the year with goal of raising money is a brilliant beginning. Robert Stevens from Balfour Beatty will be running the London Marathon, raising money for Get Kids Going.

It’s always a pleasure to learn about new charities and support these incredible events to raise money and we wish Rob the best of luck!

 

Who are Get Kids Going?

Get Kids going is a national charity that gives disabled children and young people, up to the age of 26 years, the opportunity to take part in sports. They provide them with specially built sport wheelchairs so they’re able to do; athletics, marathons, tennis, skiing, curling, rugby sailing, boccia, basketball, snowboarding, table tennis, fencing, shooting, archery, powerlifting and many more sports.

The charity is here to inspire disabled young people to compete in sporting events, from start to Paralympics level, giving them grants to help with their training, physiotherapy, sports psychology, travel, competition fees and the design and development of sports’ equipment.

 

What are Get Kids Going Aim?

Their aim is to give support to everyone sports person and build them to the summer Paralympics, winter Paralympics, commonwealth games, European and World Championships and many more events. Like any athlete, aspiring athletes need long term support, often over many years to achieve their sporting dreams.
