We’re proud to support The Big Difference, a brilliant local Southampton charity working hard to tackle food poverty across the city.
With the ongoing cost of living crisis continuing to affect thousands of families, the demand for support has grown significantly. Southampton is home to around 300,000 people, and it’s estimated that at least 42% of residents are currently experiencing food poverty.
The Big Difference is making a real impact within the community, distributing around 50 tonnes of food every month and supporting up to 10,000 people each week through social supermarkets and community projects.
To help meet growing demand, the charity is currently fundraising for a new warehouse facility costing £100,000. This new space would massively increase their ability to collect, store and distribute food, allowing them to support between 20,000 and 30,000 people every month.
As part of their fundraising efforts, The Big Difference is holding a special fundraising event featuring auctions and raffle prizes. We’re pleased to have donated a hamper prize to help support the cause and contribute towards the incredible work the charity continues to do for local families and individuals.
