As part of our ongoing commitment to creating positive social value, Hi-Way Services is proud to support the 2026 East Sussex Highways Football Charity Cup.
Organised each year by Balfour Beatty Living Places and East Sussex Highways, the annual charity tournament brings together teams from across the highways industry to raise money for organisations making a real difference in their communities.
This year’s event is supporting two fantastic charities: The Lighthouse Charity and Defiant Sports, Eastbourne.
Supporting the construction community
The Lighthouse Charity provides free, confidential 24/7 support to people working across the UK and Ireland construction industry. Whether someone is struggling with their mental health, finances or physical wellbeing, the charity offers practical guidance through its helpline, live web chat, self-support app and learning resources.
The work they do is invaluable, helping to break down the stigma around asking for help and ensuring that those working within construction have somewhere to turn when they need support most.
Creating opportunities through inclusive sport
Defiant Sports was founded to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to enjoy sport in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Inspired by the founder’s own experience of finding suitable activities for her son, the organisation now provides a wide range of accessible sporting opportunities for children, young people and adults.
From youth clubs, visually impaired tennis and holiday groups to accessibility advice, private coaching and the Eastbourne Festival of Accessible Sports, Defiant Sports continues to build confidence, improve wellbeing and bring communities together through inclusive physical activity.
Making a positive difference together
While we weren’t able to take to the pitch this year, we’re proud to support the fundraising efforts through our donation, helping both charities continue the incredible work they do.
Working alongside our industry partners on initiatives like this is an important part of our commitment to social value. By supporting organisations that improve wellbeing, promote inclusion and strengthen communities, we’re helping to create a positive impact that extends far beyond the roads we work on.
