We recently collaborated with Sarah Humphries and Ceri Turner at Balfour Beatty Living Places to enhance the playground at English Martyrs Catholic Primary School in Worthing. Our project involved refreshing the basketball and netball court lines, as well as adding some new game markings.
A standout moment from this project was the active engagement of the pupils. They had the chance to express their ideas and preferences to the Head of School, ensuring their voices were truly heard. We gathered a variety of options based on their suggestions, and the students played a key role in narrowing them down to their favourite games.
Involving the pupils in this process has made the project all the more valuable. It not only meets their needs and enhances their enjoyment but also encourages them to voice their opinions, demonstrating how their ideas can lead to real change.
The results of the project are fantastic! We’ve added new court markings, introduced three exciting games, and installed a custom thermoplastic school logo. A huge thank you to SWARCO Hitex for supplying the materials and supporting us throughout this project.
We also want to than our team, Paul and Oly, who did a great job installing these markings to the playground!
